Charlie Sheen, who is currently the highest paid actor on TV making more than $850,000 per episode, reportedly wants out of his hit show, Two and a Half Men.
Sheen hasn’t made an official statement but rumors are swirling that he has been telling friends he plans to exit the series after the current season so he can concentrate on his movie career.
Some are speculating that that the rumors are just a negotiation ploy given the fact that Sheen’s contract ends at the end of this season. Sheen could actually use some leverage considering he shut down the production for a number of weeks while he entered rehab earlier this year.
If Sheen is leaving the show, a recent series of personal problems, including the recent stint in rehab and an upcoming trial for assault charges, may be the real reason why he wants some time off.
Neither CBS or Sheen’s representatives have confirmed the report.
Men has been renewed through 2012 but it is unlikely it could survive without Sheen since the show depends on the interplay between the brothers- Charlie’s laid back character and Jon Cryer’s more uptight Alan.
